Charming mittens or no?
The charm of Noro Kureyon is the unpredictable color changes but do you think these mittens will find a home if I send them in? The blue tips are actually from a different skein. I have knitting fans at home who would take these if you think the green/grey and green/gold combos kind of break the unity that one might expect with mittens.

I say charming. Warmth is what's most important and these certainly look warm. The blue on top will make certain they always know who their mate is!
Diane, I think they are really cute -- but I worry that to the people in Afghanistan who are receiving them, it might look like we were sending mistakes, or "second best." So I love that you made them and want to send them for A4A, but I think it would be best to find them a different home where we're sure they'll be loved and understood.
Everyone, this doesn't mean that both items in a pair of mittens or a pair of socks must be exactly the same, stitch for stitch -- but for A4A purposes, it would be best if each half looks pretty much like the other.

I love these! When the page opened I immediately thought "Oh, Earth Mittens!" Forest, mountains, desert, sea and sky. How clever! Just seeing them made me smile!
Thanks for the feedback! I hate that something would languish because I unintentionally missed the mark. Carbon footprint and what have you! Will dive back into the stash for 1:1 matched yarn.
