In the Mail

Three vests and a pair of mittens will be on their way to the collection center after the MLK holiday. My original goal for this campaign was one or two vests, but I had more time to knit than I first thought. The mittens were knit in December.

Hopefully, I can finish at least one more vest before the March deadline.

Vests look great -- perhaps I will hunt down that pattern again. I know I printed it off during the earlier campaign for the sweater version but the vest idea appeals. I have finished one pair of mittens and one of a second pair - they will head for the post office this week.

Nancy, what yarn did you use for those vests? Wondering if I have something comparable hanging around -- they look really nice.

Hello Elizabeth. I used some reclaimed wool, double-stranded, for the vests. The two strands weight is a between a bulky and a worsted weight, and I used size 10 needles. Each finished vest used about 6 ounces of yarn.

I am sure that whatever yarn you have would work. Depending on the size, the vest will be larger or smaller.
