I think I started this project in spring of 2010 or was it 2009? I'm hoping I can finish it by the deadline in January 2012. You can't really tell by this photo, but the sweater is nice and long. This is the Huckleburry Sweater by Morehouse Farm. I purchased it as a kit. It is knit with bulky 100% merino wool. The completed sweater will be incredibly soft and warm for the recipient.

I'm noticing a theme here -- many sweaters that have been lingering are pulling themselves together for this campaign!!
What a spectacular photo! Any chance you can get permission from the model's parent to permit the use of this photo on our afghansforAfghans.org home page? We can credit the photographer and add a caption with the knitter and model names, if you wish (or not). I just love your photo so much! (If not possible, no worries.)
For readers who come across this post and not familiar with our current campaign guidelines, I will just mention that garments and blankets are for kids 7-16 years of age. Yes, we recommend using a real live kid for testing!
Hi, Ann, I'm glad you like the photo. Guess what? Not only am I knitter but I'm also photographer and mother of the model! I will ask my daughter and husband about using the photo, but I think they will be fine with it. BTW - I'm following the pattern for size 10 sweater. It will be plenty big for someone older than my 6-year-old.
That worked out so well! Feel free to email me directly at afghans4Afghans at aol dot com about this.
XOXOXOX
Ann
