A good start

Here's a photo of the start I made tonight on the alpaca-wool mittens. I'm doing them two at a time because I'm using scraps of yarn and don't want to find myself a few inches short on the second mitten. Though I generally prefer to use double points, this method does have some very useful applications.

Thanks to Elizabeth for finding the newly posted "Outsider Mittens" pattern. I like the fact that both mittens are made the same.
