Finished

I finished a sweater vest tonight, size 32" (about an 8?).

The main color is a real vintage yarn, Lily Sugar and Cream 100% wool in a color called Hot Green. The contrast is Elann Peruvian Highland Wool in Daffodil.

Pattern is from a magazine I picked up at the grocery store: Fons & Porter Love of Knitting (Summer 2009).

The pattern calls for an all-over stranded design. I eliminated all but the one band, thinking that this would look clean longer.

I have another sweater OTN and hope to have both in the mail by the end of the month.

Ann, You really inspired me with the decorative band on your vest! I've been planning a green vest, but was thinking that all green might be a little boring. I can't do stranded work, but I'm going to pick a pattern from Barbara Walker's Mosaic Knitting book to decorate the bottom of my vest. (That said, I'm getting a little paranoid trying to pick a pattern that doesn't have crosses or other symbols that could be misinterpreted!)

Anyway, thanks for the idea, and congrats on a beautiful vest! Jane

Dang - that is absolutely gorgeous! I love the band at the bottom, it adds such a special touch and the colours look really well together. Beautiful!

The band makes the vest more personal. Nice Job.
