Again, the constant strand is purple sport yarn from Bear Farms. The lanolin has not been removed from this yarn so it is not very soft, but it is waterproof. When mixed with a soft yarn it makes a beautiful warm blanket. The gray, yellow and orange yarns are Emu Super Wash.

For those who may not know this ... click on the photos to get an enlarged image. In many cases, works great. You can really get up close to Annette's stitches and see the color blending and almost feel the fiber. ( I suppose this depends on the original size of the image when uploading, as the click-to-enlarge function does not seem to work on every photo).
Again, beautiful. And that stitch does looks very warm.
Mary
you are a blanket making maniac! great work...
Sue,
Emu is a brand made in the UK that has been discontinued. It is 100% wool (DK)and is machine washable.
Good point about the softness. I have some really warm wool that isn't very soft. I used a lot of it to make a shawl last year (or was that two years ago now...?) and then I washed it in wool wash and it got a bit softer. Is there another trick to really soften it up? I want to finish it up in a baby blanket for Cure but don't want to send a scratchy baby blanket...
