looking for a very easy to crochet vest pattern
I have been donating crocheted blankets and hats and need a pattern for a vest. Hopefully, after I master a vest I can try a sweater!! Thank you to all of you in advance for helping me with this project, Cheryl
How about trying this from our website -- crochet vest
I don't think it has a button band, but still seems to close up well against the cold. I think we have gotten a few of these in the past, and the design seems to be one of the better fitting garments for crochet, yet simple construction. Will be useful if you can post your experience with the pattern here for others. Thanks.
I saw a boy's vest that used a zipper on a Knit and Crochet Today show (available on dvd, too). They demonstrated a man's size, then indicated a boy's size was available.
They stressed buying the zipper after making the garment to get the correct size, and then simply hand-stitching the zipper in place (noting that the zipper would have to be openable at the bottom, as for a jacket).
Our 2016 campaign was completed the first week of August 2016. Our wool gifts were successfully transported and distributed by NGO Trust in Education.

Update August 2017:
Unfortunately, we do not have plans for a new campaign at this time because of hurdles with logistics. We'll do our best to solve, but nothing promising yet. Thank you for participating while we had the opportunity!
THE BASICS
afghans for Afghans is a people-to-people project that knits and crochets wool garments as a practical gesture of friendship and respect for the people of Afghanistan. In partnership with the San Francisco office of the American Friends Service Committee, our project started in late 2001 in response to the war that unfolded after 9/11. This follows a long-time tradition of knitting for others at times of war and crisis. Afghan families still need to know that we care. Join us here for camaraderie, inspiration, and mutual support with projects.

Would be good if we can find a pullover style vest for crochet.
