Here are some mittens that should fit a teen. (They are slightly snug for me,) I will hold onto my smaller socks and hat for now and try to get another teen item in time for the 24th deadline. Judy
OK -- I finished a pair of sport weight socks that will fit a teen (size my 18 year old granddaughter wears) and mailed them, the mittens and the some socks that are better for a grade school aged brother or sister.
New 2013 Campaign for NGO Trust in Education: 500 wool sweaters for school girls (7-16 years), and socks, mittens, and hats (7 years to adults), according to these guidelines.
This campaign is dedicated to the memory of our dear friend and wool lover Luisa Gelenter.

THE BASICS
afghans for Afghans is a people-to-people project that knits and crochets wool blankets and garments as a practical gesture of friendship and respect for the people of Afghanistan. In partnership with the San Francisco office of the American Friends Service Committee, our project started in late 2001 in response to the war that unfolded after 9/11. This follows a long-time tradition of knitting for others at times of war and crisis. Afghan families still need to know that we care. Join us here for camaraderie, inspiration, and mutual support with projects.
