I worked on some baby blankets during the break figuring that they would always be a call for them. The orange one is a corner to corner keeping to the red/orange part of the spectrum. The blue one is a granny square blanket where I joined adjacent squares as I went along. I was using up old stash.
They are mostly Paton Merino or Classic Wool with an "I" size hook.

Terrific! It is great that you kept going on blankets while we waited. You have a head start.
I haven't started a blanket yet but have managed to round up the various balls of wool that should go together.
I like the brightness of the orange...of course...it's my favorite color. But the sky blue/maroonish squares in the granny put me in mind of the windmill quilt block.
No idle hands for you!
Thank you for the kind comments. I use orange because it's Cathy's favorite color, ;-).
I'm working on a blue/green corner to corner because they are my favorite colors.
Joining as you go is quite easy. Here is a link to a tutorial:

(The mis-spelled "sqaures" needs to be in the link.)
Wandering around Lucy's blog is a treat. Every color is her favorite color.
Nice work! That's a lot of crochet stitches.
Reed,
Great work as always! :-)
