Ah, well. Best-laid plans and all - but I won't have another blanket finished by today, which is when I need to mail it for Monday's deadline.
On the up side, since the CURE Hospital seems to have a need every year, I am going to finish the blanket and tuck it away for the next campaign. I use lavendar and cedar to protect woolies so it should be fine. I may make a few more blankets with other yarn in the A4A bin on principle and tuck them away as well.
If I feel moved, a couple vests also, since the youth campaigns seem to come around regularly. I find a vest easier to knit than socks. For one thing: no having to match two items!

That's good to know, Sue. Blankets are a nice easy thing when I can't think of anything else to do. And I was in a couple square-swaps long ago, I have a PILE of wooly squares that I can turn into more blankets if I feel like a sit-and-work project. Excellent for football playoffs.
I have a pair of socks partly done that would have fit the youth campaign. I didn't get them finished in time but will finish them and store them away for the next chance. I did get other things sent by the deadline - but not these. I have sock yarn that a friend gave me for this purpose - so I may have a small stash ready to go.
I just caught up on email and there may be another youth campaign at the turn of the new year, so you're ahead of the pack for that one, Judy!
I may still keep the pair of mittens that I did not finish in time as they fit me so nicely - but that just inspires me to do another pair for the youth campaign. Mittens are such handy carry-along projects and a great use for oddballs.
